What’s your Gig? Live music, football, bird watching, cinema, country walks? Would you like to meet someone who shares your passion?
Northdale are delighted to work with Stay Up Late to bring their Gig Buddies project to Northdale. Gig Buddies is all about fun and friendship, and having a shared interest.
Stay Up Late believe people with learning disabilities have the right to stay up late and have some fun. Northdale already does this through our Breathing Space trips but we want to take it further and provide individual support to our members. Gig Buddies is about having someone in your life who is not paid to be there – it’s about developing genuine friendships based on shared interests.
We will match an adult with a learning disability with a volunteer who has the same interests. Buddies will aim to go out once a month and we will also run socials and invite the buddy pairs along. See our Easy Read Guide to Gig Buddies and find out more.
