Nursery

The Northdale nursery produces a wide range of summer bedding, perennials, herbs and shrubs. The staff and service users cultivate and nurture plants through every stage of development as well as maintaining the plant sales area.

Each year the nursery gets off to a busy start with the production of summer bedding. This important crop generates a good proportion of the charities income for the year so it is a very busy time. Once the bedding season has finished the nursery settles down to the production of a wide range of shrubs and herbaceous plants and herbs. Then work hot's up again with the making of holly wreaths in the run up to Christmas.

Much of the work undertaken on the nursery could be classed as ‘bench work’ making it ideal for individuals with limited mobility.
