Photo Gallery In the spring of 2006 Northdale Horticulture commissioned photographer Nick Adams to support the staff, workers and artists of Northdale Horticulture, Ashtree Arts and Chopsticks to create a visual record of their daily working lives. Workers and Artists involved with the project were given the opportunity to create their own personal record using disposable cameras. Everybody was encouraged to photograph aspects of their life about which they felt passionate and were happy to share and a good proportion of these images can be found within this exhibition. Nick also spent several days photographing the working lives of Simon, Alan and David and it is this work along with portraits of the Northdale team that go to make up the major part of the exhibition you are about to see. We hope the exhibition in some part illustrates the diversity and range of activities undertaken by adults with learning disabilities in work based services, open employment and the wider community. We also hope that at a time when the services provided for adults with learning disabilities are undergoing significant change, the exhibition will help give a voice to a group of individuals for whom words may at times be a little difficult but pictures may say so much more.
